Big Bang Bar – Silver Ball Museum Asbury Park NJ

Yesterday I got to play for the first time Big Bang Bar at the Silver Ball Museum in Asbury Park NJ.  For the people who don’t know, Big Bang Bar was produced by Capcom in 1997 and only 14 units were produced as prototypes.  Capcom shortly went out of business after that therefore halting the production of the machine to the public.

In 2004 Gene Cunningham of Illinois Pinball bought all the parts from Capcom and produced 183 Big Bang Bar machines to be sold. In the year 2006-2007 the machines were finally produced and shipped worldwide.  Since such a low production number of the machines were created, its value has skyrocketed.

The machine plays pretty fast.  The artwork on the sides and play field look great.  Is Big Bang Bar worth $20,000?  Not in my opinion, but the machine is really fun and challenging.
