Control Your Game Room Remotely

I love gadgets. Anything new especially when its affordable is great. I remembering reading a post on Pinside posted by Fattrain about a year ago controlling the power to any device via remote control. I looked up the post to read about the device he was talking about and ordered it through Amazon.

The device is called Etekcity ZAP 5LX Auto-Programmable Function Wireless Remote Control Outlet. The device is basically 5 female plugs that insert into your wall outlets at home that allow you to plug a male device into it. The included remote control operates the power on and off to the devices that plug into your wall. You can plug any power strip or appliance into the device. The devices are great and only cost around $30.00 for 5 outlets.

Each of the units are programmable to what button on the remote control operates its power. To program the devices, you plug the device into the wall, push a button on the side of the device, then when the light flashes on the device, push the button 1-5 on the remote in which you want to operate the device. The button 5 on my remote turns all 4 of the devices on and off all at the same time.

The Etekcity ZAP 5LX Auto-Programmable Function Wireless Remote Control Outlet is a great way to operate appliances or devices plugged into your walls on the cheap.
