My first time to Modern Pinball was sometime last year when the facility opened. I have been back a number of times after my first visit. I just visited Modern Pinball last weekend for the Big Lebowski Pinball launch. It was a great party hosted by Modern Pinball and a great pinball machine createdby the guys at Dutch Pinball. Modern Pinball is not just an arcade but an interactive showroom. The showroom has about 25-30 machines all kept in great shape by Eddie and the other pinball techs. The current line-up consists of a lot of Stern pinball and also some Williams classics all on free play.
The admission fees are : ADULTS: $12 up to 1 hour; $19 up to 3 hours;
$29 All-Day Pass CHILDREN (UNDER 7):
$10 up to 1 hour;
$15 up to 3 hours;
$19 All-Day Pass CHILDREN (UNDER 3): FREE SENIORS (65+) & STUDENTS: 10% off all rates
Everytime you visit the showroom, the money that is used for admission can be used in purchasinga machine that is sold by Modern Pinball NYC. The showroom is managed by Steve Zahler and Steve Epstein. Steve Epstein is the former owner and manager of Broadway Pinball during the 80’s. He is also the creator along with Roger Sharpe of the PAPA Pinball World Championship.
All the workers at the facility are pleasant, knowledgeable, and great to talk with. Modern Pinball NYCis a great place to go and play some pinball. Modern Pinball is also a great place to host events and kids or adult parties. Modern Pinball also hosts pinball leagues three days during the week.
If you find yourself in the New York City area, I highly recommend taking a trip and checking out Modern Pinball NYC for a great time to play some pinball. It’s great to see another pinball arcade surface with the resurgence of pinball.
